What do you mainly use your muzzle loaders for? Be it target shooting, hunting, shooting matches, simply for display, etc?

For me, my main use is for hunting, and target shooting.

Target. Hunting here has become a blood money kill happy circus.

Entertainment....be it hunting, target shooting, on just working one one of them.

Hunting, hunting, and more hunting. Target practice is only to make sure that the guns are 'on' for hunting.

I too, could care less about target shooting. Matter of fact I find no enjoyment in it at all. I like going a-field and hunting. I enjoy it even more when I come home empty handed. The occasional kill is ok. But not necessary for me to have an absolutely bang up time.

Competition and historic shooting and mostly-. they're tons of fun to shoot!

Almost any gun is a work of art even the cheaper ones. I feel like I belong to an elite club or something when I handle one. I personally like the occasional target shooting . Hunting has become a rich mans sport, at least around here.

I love target shooting with accurate rifles. The smaller the group, the better. Its like a personal challenge. I still hunt deer and squirrels, and being familiar with the gun you hunt with is always important.
Some guys fish, some play golf, I shoot!
Whatever floats your boat!

Building and learning the history, followed by informal plinking and target shooting. I don't see well enough to hunt with the crude sights on them any more, (and can't bring myself to mount something non HC/PC on a historically correct build) so choose more modern weapons for hunting.

I have long touted my time honored Water Soluble oil or Ballistol and water mix formula for very lightly lubricating shooting patches. Well a fellow experimenter sent me a post relating how using Caster Oil and alcohol in a 5 shots of alcohol and one shot of Castor oil was giving him consistent one-hole groups at 50 yards.

I had long thought of using alcohol as the evaporative agent but Castor oil never crossed my mind..
It pleases me when some one takes my procedure and then goes one step further.
I am thinking of adding his adjustment to my System in my adjustable eBook.
