Stalking rabbits this morning with my smoothrifle. Something I never tire from.

I missed one, shot low but I was surprised the ball did not run into it!

That was in hedgerow leading to a mixed wooded lot on top of a hill. In there I jumped a bob tailed buck rabbit.
It stopped to protest!

Had a great time later stalking. There was small colonies and the bucks were very active sparring with each other.
A later shot clipped an unseen branch and passed over a sitting buck but later I found a fourth opportunity in some bramble.
Two in the bag and I was more than happy.

Right on queue the rain arrived. Time to go home and light the fires.

nice shooting!! enjoy your posts!!

Enjoy your posts Britsmoothy. And a nice brace of rabbits there. Rabbits are a rare commodity here, these days we try to make do with the odd skinny hare but they are not the same. Keep the post coming.

Makin me jealous with all that bare ground and greenery in the pics.
My bunnies are way back, beyond 3' snow drifts. Even with snowshoes its no fun to try up here unless you get fast melting between storms. Brush it too thick to be enjoyable.
I'm going to have to live vicariously through your posts, I guess.
