My friends, you have my apologies!! for whatever reason I didn't realize it was time to post another match!! Because of this I'm extending the shoot time to April 9th for this one.

My poll isn't complete for the peep sight question so no on this match, though if you want to shoot and send me your target using a peep please do, I'll give honorable mention (and if enough do Ill post a second set of scores) I just cant add you to the primary match scorecard.

Find your target here: http://www.mytargets.com/Target4 red circles.pdf

Grab a partner, each of your scores will be totaled for your team

Shoot 5 shots only, per shooter for a total of 10 shots per team.

If you want to shoot and can't find a partner go for it, but you still only get 5 shots.

Scoring is as follows:
5 points; Center 1" dot (you may color or sticker it if you like but don't go out of the 1" boundary
3 points inner circle
2 points middle circle
1 point outer circle

5 shots only, misses count!

The shooting distance for this contest is 25 yards.

No do-over’s.

Only registered forum members may participate.

Only traditional, open iron sighted muzzle loading firearms (NO Cannons). Percussion or flintlock ignition. Cap and Ball revolvers are OK.

Single patched round ball only. No restrictions on caliber. (a patchless ball may be used if so desired)

Shots will be taken off-hand at the stated distance. Standing or seated is allowed, elbows unsupported by anything other than the shooters torso. In the event that a member is not physically able to hold his rifle up unsupported, a "prop-rod" that is supported only by the shooters torso, no part of which prop-rod may touch the ground, may be used to hold up the fore-end of the rifle.

Only original targets will be accepted. No copies, faxes, scans, etc.

Mutilated targets, or targets with more than 5 holes will be disqualified.

The center of the shot and the placement on the target will be determined by the judge.

Judges decisions are final.

Each contestant's score will be posted at the end of the contest.

Your member screen name must be written on your targets.

Mail your target postmarked by April 9th 2019 to:

Adui, if the peep shooters do send in their targets it may help give you an idea of whether they have an advantage or not. Kind of a trial run for your thought and benefit. Just my thoughts.

Does your partner have to be a member or can I grab my better half? No other members around here.
Unfortunately the rules have always stated members only. I suggest setting her up an account so she is a member. She doesn't have to actually be active, just registered.

To clarify; your partner need not be in your area. Any forum member can team up with any other. Each shoots the target and mails it to me his or her screen name as well as the name of the partner so I know the teams.

For those following with the interest of using peep sights, I am modifying the rules to allow peep sights for score. Please mark your target with the words Peep sight so I can track the data.

As always, have fun and enjoy the shoot! That is the reason I do this!!

My shoulder's feeling pretty good. I'm going to shoot late next week or early the following week. I'm going to take a little more rehab time since we have until 4-9. If anyone needs a partner, I'm available. I hope to shoot like my better inner competitor shoots. I'll see.

Logcutter, that’s a deal. I’ll try to shoot mine this weekend. Thanks.

Jake I shot mine today and mailed it. I did not do as well as I would have liked. I shot one heck of a 5 shot group, just a little lower than I wanted. jJst couldn't seem to get it where I wanted. I think I may have been dropping the rifle before ignition and getting the shot off. Any way, its on you partner. :)

These shoots give me an excuse to shoot. Also, it generates interest at the local range when I tell guys shooting their unmentionables I'm shooting a muzzleloading postal. I often grab a different gun to shoot just to see how it will do. It may be one I haven't shot for some time. I'll probably use one I''m a little more familiar with since this one is a group endeavor.

I shot my target with my new to me TC Hawken .45. I'm in the rings but not the best. It is what it is. I still need a partner. Anyone? I'm going to mail in on Monday.
