In honor of groundhogs everywhere; (and a rather hilarious movie of the same name) we are going to reboot the last three contest all at once. Ill repost each of the contest rules below. Feel free to shoot one two or all three.
First, the usual rules that apply to all three targets:

The shooting distance for this contest is 25 yards.

No do-over’s.

Only registered forum members may participate.

Only traditional, open iron sighted muzzle loading firearms (NO Cannons). Percussion or flintlock ignition. Cap and Ball revolvers are OK.

Single patched round ball only. No restrictions on caliber. (a patchless ball may be used if so desired)

Shots will be taken off-hand at the stated distance. Standing or seated is allowed, elbows unsupported by anything other than the shooters torso. In the event that a member is not physically able to hold his rifle up unsupported, a "prop-rod" that is supported only by the shooters torso, no part of which prop-rod may touch the ground, may be used to hold up the fore-end of the rifle.

Only original targets will be accepted. No copies, faxes, scans, etc.

Mutilated targets, or targets with more than 5 holes will be disqualified.

The center of the shot and the placement on the target will be determined by the judge.

Judges decisions are final.

Each contestant's score will be posted at the end of the contest.

Your member screen name must be written on your targets.

Mail your target postmarked by January 31st 2019 to:

Terry Stephens
9043 E Butternut Ave
Mesa AZ 85208

Contest 1:
January reboot; a simple hit or miss with 5 individual circles. The target I chose has 5 mini targets; you may feel free to completely fill them in to make black circles or put stickers on them as you see fit.

find your target here: http://www.mytargets.com/Target31.pdf

Take one shot per target circle only, there are five total and misses count.

Each hit in a circle counts as 1 point. multiple holes in the same target circle count as only one point so remember to shoot only once at each of the five target circles on the page.

Contest 2:
December reboot: Download the pdf file I uploaded, that's your target this time!

Print the target so the top of the pyramid (tree) is at the top of an 8 1/5" by 11" page. (In December I received some printed landscape mode or sideways so I'm specifying for the reboot)

You may color your target as you wish but the original lines MUST b e clearly discernible by me when I get it.

Scoring will be as follows:

Shoot 5 shots at the target location of choice, misses count.

The shooting distance for this contest is 25 yards.

Your score is as listed on the target.

Contest 3:
November reboot; Turkey Day target

Your target for this shoot is a Turkey silhouette, with 3 tiny bulls-eye targets in the right upper and both lower corners respectively.

Find your Target here:

Rules:

Scoring will be as follows:

Shoot 5 shots at the target location of choice, misses count.

The shooting distance for this contest is 25 yards.

Your score is as listed on the target.

Finally; my thanks to Kansas Jake for the Groundhog Day idea!!

That's a cool idea for a shoot. Nicely done guys. Made me even a little more ancy after missing last month.

That sounds great. I had my foot surgery on January 28th on both feet and my first check up yesterday. Doc says all is perfect and I should be back in shoes in another 2 weeks. So maybe I will be able to shoot these as there will be 8 days left in February if all goes according to plan. Of course mother nature needs to cooperate with some decent weather as well. It will be great to get out. :horseback:

Dave

Hey Adui, I'm a little confused. On the turkey target, are we supposed to put all 5 of our shots on "one" of the three small targets. Or are we supposed to shoot at all three?

Actually you choose what to shoot at. The BIG turkey and take what you get or chance the 10 score for a good hit on the small targets. 5 shots total so you can mix and match

MDK_WV your January target arrived today. Looks like the US Post office declared it undeliverable the first time around, and yet with the same address on the envelope delivered it today? Whatever the case, I can accept it as one of your three targets for the February shoot if you like. Just let me know.

Whew, I am glad the post office decided this was your correct address. I thought I might have to send the next one by pony express. Sure go ahead and complete the January Shoot and I will try to shoot the February shoot as well. Thanks for holding the shoots.

Shot mine today. It will go out in Tuesdays mail. Adui I did put my name on the target but forgot to write the rifle and load up and its already in the envelope. It is a 50cal. Great Plains rifle shooting a 490 ball .015 patch over 65 Grains of 3F goex. That going to be okay?

Of course! All I really need is the screen name to put you on the scorecard. All the other info is nice to have but not necessary

I shot the turkey and the 5 bullseye targets today. Taking advantage of the only nice day this week. Certainly not my best shooting but I'll mail them anyhow just to keep Adui motivated and prove that we do enjoy the contests. I probably wouldn't have gone out today if it wasn't for the contest, so good job.

Got mine shot and in the mail today. It's going to be a tight race for last place. Usually my little pea shooter will shoot nice groups. Today was not one of those days.

Can't seem to convince myself either way about using a fouling shot. Probably should just work it into my routine.

Anyways, thanks for putting it on Adui.

Logcutter; your target arrived today, you are in for the Turkey target. Now get out there and shoot the other two :)

Russellshaffer and Sily921; I look forward to receiving your targets!

I am strongly in the running for last place on the 5 bullseye target. I cut the outer ring on 2 bulls and missed clean on the other 3. I did get 3 good shots and 2 fair ones on the turkey. I'm sure it was due to the extra 2 yards or so from shooting at 25 meters at my local range. HA!
