Enjoying the fall is best.
I love it. The modern world is to fast for me so I grab every opportunity to reconnect with the real earth and slow down some.
The fast lock of this artax manton makes is so much rewarding in the hunting woods.
I loaded large shot today and still experimenting with fine powder all be it reduced charges I will let the photos speak.

Very nice!! Looks like you two are really enjoying the season. The pictures sure did a lot of speaking. Thanks for sharing with us.

Just how fine is the fine powder you're experimenting with Nate?

Best regards, Skychief.

Well at the fear of getting somes panties all knotted up my friend it's what they call fine over here and I can vouch for it being way finer than fff.
I bought it when there was little choice but hate it just sitting there because of the lore ' thout shalt not use 4f in the's gone'!
So I have been experimenting.
Generally it looks ok with good velocities with 3/4 volume charges (+/-).

Put it this way, if its all I can get I know now I can get by.

Nice shooting I wish we had small game here. I grew up hunting rabbits and pheasants, in New Jersey if you can believe it. Over here in the Pocono Mts. of Pennsylvania we hunt squirrels, once in a while we will get a rabbit. I haven't seen a grouse in a couple of years, and pheasants have gone extinct. I sure do envy you.

Don't envy me friend.
I have no deer here. I can't own a frontloader rifle to hunt with here, only to shoot paper IF I am in a club! Paper gravy is thin and tastes disgusting!

By law should one encounter a deer a ball from a smooth bore is illegal ( but we will worry about that come the time) but as the laws were written by uneducated experts the definition of which is: X= the unknown factor and PERT= erect nipple I shall ignore their opinion.
Thanks y'all.

Brit,
I have always admired your hunting and shooting skills. Now, I see a new side to you - "we will worry about that come the time".

I just toasted you with a very nice Rye! A true man of spirit!
