Anyone have any knowledge about the status of the Rifle Shoppe in Jones, OK? Have both called
and emailed them several times recently with no response.

Sadly, that's not exactly untrue. LOL

They try but I urge anyone, everyone, ordering anything, everything, from them to confirm that all the parts are currently available at the moment and THEN order the locks ASSEMBLED or else you very well may be missing parts or they wont fit together, I assure you.

If a part is not available do NOT order -- whatever they tell you is the lead time to get the part and fill your order will have utterly no bearing in reality.

I bought an assembled gun it took 12 (twelve) years to get from them -- no joke. Original buyer had already moved on in the hobby and this Baker Rifle made its way to me, new, unfired...

12 years! :shocked2: Patience is a virtue.....Yer pretty virtuesous!

I would have found a way to arrive at they're door step with 3 toddlers and 2 puppies each with an espresso to "assist" them in production! :blah:

I find it incredible this vendor remains in business :shocked2: . Have you asked for a refund? Thanks for the heads up guys, one thing I lack is patience for incompetence :cursing:

Wouldn't know what it's like today cuzz I gave up on them 10 years ago. Haven't darkened their doorway since.

Sounds like nothing has changed.

I use their catalog to see what the parts look like and then make my own.I have never bought from
them.

I bet I'm not alone in wondering where you sign up for THAT customer service! The rest of us can't even get a phone call or email answered in two weeks.

After waiting two years for a part, I spent the next year trying to get my money back. Ten years later I'm still waiting on my money or my part. Price of a good education, I figure. Now they could walk up to my door with the part in their hands and I'd slam it in their face. Nuff sedd. Next topic. Ruined my day even hearing their name.

Bear!
You got a problem!
You need :v in your life.
Smoke a refer ( Canadian for weed )
Sit down ( on the floor ) cross your legs.
Take a deep breath.......close your eyes....think of good things.
Pour a little glass of scotch (16 oz.)
Drink a little.
Think of bunnies & birds, more scotch.
After two or three hours of this all of your frustrations will disappear.
Good thoughts from your therapist.

But as is said, your mileage may vary.

May vary? How about they're running on fumes over there!

I don't think I have ever had anything from them in two weeks. One order they didn't even ship everthing as something was on backorder, never shipped, then they said they had but when they finally checked they confirmed they hadn't... Thank goodness.

I ordered a snaphaunce completed (could it be pushing two decades ago now? Dear Lord!) and they couldn't assemble their own gun because... they had the wrong parts in the kit! They shipped it to one gunsmith for me who gave up too and it went to a third who MADE the right parts for me. Took about four years to get that gun finished.

PS -- I didn't wait the 12 years, someone else who changed reenacting in the interim did and then sold the rifle right away. What's the diff -- it wasn't like he was gonna get a refund from Jesse!

Nah. It's their problem, not mine. I try to lead an honest and responsible life, but that doesn't mean that everyone else has the same goals.

I'm as quick to sing the praises of good folks as to air the dirt of bad, so I figure my life is in perfect harmony. :v

Just curious but do they not have COD as a delivery and payment method in the States. That is the ONLY way I buy stuff from a company I have never done business with when not dealing face to face. Any company that refuses to sell COD I already know what would happen if I sent them the money trusting on the items being delivered. Not being critical, just asking for information purposes.

No, you don't.

If you want to insist on COD that is your business. BUT, there are plenty of businesses (most) that are truely reliable and honest and will bend over backwards to please their customers. TRS is an exception and in a marketing world all their own.

In COD I pay the extra $7.00 cost the post office charges for the service, the company is GUARANTEED to receive its funds on delivery and acceptance of the shipment. Why would any legitimate company refuse to ship C.O.D? (Yes I am aware of Pay-pal, and I also know that my credit card company will back me if I don't receive the goods I paid for but both of these recovery methods are time consuming and far from certain as to outcome).

There are many honest companies but in the world of buying on line and by phone with people you have never dealt with the risks of being defrauded have risen dramatically. It is prudent to take precautions until you have established a level of trust with the company.

Because if payment is not made the shipper gets stuck with the shipping cost.

I just wish there was another company out there doing the earlier gun designs... If there are others, it would be nice to know...
