Yes I agree. I've been using a 3 band '42 for over 10 years. I had Zimmerman defarb it and restamp the lockplate years ago.
According to the experts, the M42 is the most correct repro of
any of the re-enactor muskets. Only the trigger guard is off a bit,
the sample sent to the factory had a slight flattening of the bottom bow of the TG,
when it should have been rounded more. The subsequent copies all have the flattened
profile! It's a handsome gun, and I would jump at the chance to get a 2-bander.
