I'm new to this forum, pls see introduction for this.

I'm looking for plans and advice to build a Xv century early arquebus, so as to portray such an early arquebusier soldier in the service of venice.

I have experience as a bladesmith, I have a forge and several related tools.

I'm completely ignorant about blackpowder secrets and safety, so I'm also looking for advice by experienced users.

As of buying barrels, I live in Lombardy, very close to the Brescia's districts where most italian replica gunpowder weapons are built, so I guess I could find easily a local producer for barrels, if you consider it unlikely to build one by forge welding.
