I attend a general weekly auction where many good buys can be found. Recently there was a very nice, high quality Jukar (!) Philadelphia Derringer; (lockplate spelling). I was surprised at the overall quality of the thing, very tight, neat assembly, obviously un-fired but seeming to be older, maybe 1960's. RIFLED! seems to be .45 cal. I've seen really cheap Spanish derringers, but this one is particularly nice, with a little square notch rear sight, post front sight, good action, and carefully assembled as I've noted. Has the pale stock color, which I may strip & stain, but here's the kicker: When they held it up for sale, it was announced as a "lighter pistol", like those goofy cigarette lighters you'd see in the '60's. It sold (to me!) for TEN BUCKS! I was ready to bid up to maybe 50 for it, but auctions are always a surprise! About 3" bbl.
