Does anyone have any historical references or examples of game lanyards? Squirrel season will be starting in a few weeks and I've been thinking about making one out of leather. Nothing fancy as my leather working experience is just a few little bags to hold flints and etc. I've made them out of paracord before and I assume I could do something similar with leather but I'd like to know if there's any historical representation of them I could copy.
Thanks,
Undertow

I don't know about historical reference but, if you want to make one, a pair of 72 inch leather boots laces from TSC or somewhere like that will give you plenty to work with. And a strip of tooling leather (or an old belt) a couple inches wide and about six inches long, with a belt loop on each end, and the leather Wang's hanging from that, would be a quick and easy fix. Hopefully one of the more historically knowledgeable members will be along shortly with the info you seek. Let us know what you come up with and good luck.
