There is another question in this section about what type of antler makes a good knife handle, so I'm adding this question: Anybody have any luck with deer BONE as a knife handle? I have a piece of leg bone that was lying in a forest, so I guess it's "cured", but it isn't so old as to be rotten or crumbling. I cut a portion in half and it's hollow, but with substantial material surrounding the hollow section. I would probably have to fill in the hollow part with some sort of resin or plastic. Any thoughts or experiences with this stuff as a handle? By the way..this is a fairly small knife; the bone is just not big enough for anything substantial.
