Ed Rayl did a 50" swamped octagonal for my rifle that Oldarmy built for me.

    Favorite movie guns

The Aliens Pulse Rifle as well as the LOTM rifle were among my favorite. The LOTM rifle I had a friend and forum member OldArmy make for me. (I aint tried the silk patch yet). But the guns that made me drool were the minigun in "Predator" and the Barrett .50 in "NAVY SEALs"

    Guns of Lonesome Dove?

I have an Uberti Walker that I want to get converted like Gus's someday. I also traded for a Model 66 Uberti "Trapper" that I use for Texas Ranger reenacting. As far as the cast goes, when Lonesome Dove was first being written into screenplay, John Wayne, James Stewart, and Henry Fonda were to be...

    Movie guns

One of my favorite "Movie guns" is the extremely big flint blunderbuss used by a settler's son during an indian attack in the movie "The Comancheros" with John Wayne. The kid aims at some Comanches on horseback, and drops 3 at one terrific blast of fake smoke coming from the muzzle. :shocked2...

    Looking for looooooooong rifle parts

I paid $275 for mine. It was a swamped barrel which makes a BIG difference in weight on your longer barreled guns. Mr. Riley Smith will make a 48" barrel, but only a straight barrel, which is significantly heavier. Personally, I'd go with Dane's. Those Getz barrels are a good buy, and hard to...

    Looking for looooooooong rifle parts

Yes actually, For a LONG while I wanted a looooong rifle as well. Especially after seeing Last of the Mohicans with Danial Day Lewis. My friend Oldarmy made that rifle for me. The barrel was a custom barrel from W.E. "Ed" Rayl. It's 50" long, swamped and .50 cal. The stock was cut from TVM's...

    Reccomend a Builder

There are many good builders in the forums here. But the one who has built guns for me is Oldarmy, aka Mike Woodbury a forum member as well. He's built 3 pistol's for me and 2 rifles. One was a Late Lancaster and the other was a custom "Last of the Mohicans" rifle with a 50" barrel. Send him a...

Were to find a long barrel

You might also wanna try W.E. "Ed" Rayl. He makes "extra-long" barrels too. He made a 50" swamped full octagon rifle barrel for my LOTM "Killeer" rifle. I lost his phone number and address, but maybe one of the other members has it.

    Dagger

Dadgummit James, Why do you have to make such awesome works of art when I'm broke? :( Beautiful knife James. What are the specs on it BTW? Just when I was thinking about having you make a dagger for me a couple months back, you come up with one prettier than I had wanted. Good thing I...

    uberti or cimarron

Yup, just like Mykeal said. Vinegar soak is the cheapest and easiest. There was an article about antiquing an Army revlover on the net. It'll save you a lot of money and time having to take it to a gunsmith.

    uberti or cimarron

I got a Cimarron. Fit and finish is first-rate. As far as finishes go on Cimarron guns, the charcoal-bluing is awesome, but needs to be maintained or it'll rub off fairly quick. You can always save money by buying a blued gun and antiquing it yourself. :v

    Josey Wales 2 part topic

If you look on the Cimarron Arms website, they have Clint's revolver on there. It's the "man with no name" conversion revolver. Kirst makes a converter for cap and ball revolvers including the Walker. Problem is, you have to cut away part of the shield to make a port so you can load it with...

I bought a Walker from a forum member awhile back. Beautiful Uberti with a VERY nice blueing job done on it. ( OldGreyWolf) I think he had another he was gonna sell. Send him a PM. Maybe ya'll can work something out.
