    There are several pictures attached to the original post. The last one is the internals of the lock. When I try to cock it, nothing happens. There is no felt resistance or half cocking. It's as is the sear is not engaging at all. (But I have absolutely no experience in antique firearm mechanics)...

    I have an 1847 Springfield that is a family heirloom that needs a few pieces replaced. I have found most of the brass but cannot locate the hardware (screws) that are missing. Does anyone know a good resource? I am awaiting to hear back from S&S Firearms. Would the screws from an 1842 work...
