    DP Frontier.50

Ok. So today I fired 3 shots from this gun at 15 yards. Almost the same hole. Got good spark with out loading. Loaded. No Spark 😳 tried again. Spark and no ignition. Pushed some Goex 3F into the th, primed and it went off. Kinda slow. Always use a pick to feel the powder. Second shot. New...

    DP Frontier.50

Thank you guys. To me the romance of using a flintlock is strong. I posted on another forum about sighting in and filing down the front sight. Was wondering about sighting in using my lead sled instead of bags. Would that make a difference? It doesn’t with my smokeless guns but don’t know bout...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Good Morning from OKC Thinking about trying again to sight in my DP Frontier .50 flinter. I will be using some tape on the front sight to figure out how much to file down. I have tried loads between 70-100grs of 2F and 3F. All hit around the same place. Putting the top of the blade level with...

    DP Frontier.50

Good Morning All. Ok kinda looking for some input. I was always fascinated with flintlocks. Had a .32 it was fun to shoot but decided to let it go. Now I have a DP Frontier.50. I have learned a lot on the forums, but wondering if it’s really worth it. Clatch’s, slow ignition, still need to...

    Accuracy standard

Accuracy is dependent on a lot of things. Hold, breathing, working up loads. TIME! I started at 16 when Dad bought me a 308 and all the reloading stuff for it. I tried for the most accurate round and ended up if I did my part a load that was 5 shots almost in the same hole at 100yards. But went...

    SOLD Thompson/Center Renegade .54 cal

Would be be interested in trading for a pendersol 50 flintlock. Less than 100 shots fired. It’s either a frontier or Kentucky. I can sen pics and serial number if you want.

Any other crazy kids out there?

Had a friend with some cannon fuse. Made pipe bombs out of 6in steel nipple pipe with capped ends. Smokeless powder packed. On the back part of the AFB there old telephone poles with glass insulators we wanted. Knocked over quite a few. Never did get hurt. Guess we were lucky.
  14. Seabee Chief

    Another option for caps.

Just a thot. Seeing how the world is full of idiots. What would be your liability options if someone bought 1000’s over time and did not use them for the intended purpose.. ie.. don’t eat tide pods 😳

    WITHDRAWN DP .50 Flintlock

Good Morning. Thank you for the extra information. I’m learning all the time. You are the first to say you might want it. So we will see that’s the best I can do right now seeing how the heating unit at the house just went out last week 😳

    WITHDRAWN DP .50 Flintlock

Ok guys. I stand corrected. Thank you Bob Hatfield. This is a Cabelas Pennsylvania rifle. If you can find one they list for 600.00-625.00 new. Since I have played a bit with it I will drop the price to $550.00. Again much thanks to Bob for helping me out.

    WITHDRAWN DP .50 Flintlock

Hi Bob.. I just measured the barrel and it is 35 inches. So it must be the Kentucky sold by Cabelas. Thank you so much for the information.

    WITHDRAWN DP .50 Flintlock

Well brother you might be right. Kinda crazy but mine doesn’t have the patch box. But it does have the brass nose piece and the frontier doesn’t. Strange. But thank you

    WITHDRAWN DP .50 Flintlock

I lo ok, I checked on the company website as it did not come with a box. The Kentucky has the big ornate patch box at the rear side or the stock and adjustable sights. The plain frontier does not. I was told when I bought it that it was a frontier.
