I hear ya. I'm already thinking about another area for next year. I know things aren't perfect but I guess I'll just adapt.

    Atv's

So I am in my hunting spot the other night on a closed road with 4 does about 30 yards in front of me. Been waiting several days for this buck I've been seeing to get within range. After sunset an atv comes down the closed road and stops at an angle as if to get a shot for the passenger...

    Pistol Ramrod

I use a short starter also. I need to make a new ramrod for my 50. I ordered a new Hickory ramrod for my trade gun and I'm hoping I have enough left for my pistol, probably not lol.

    Homemade 45 cal ?

Got this pistol from my buddies dad a long time ago.I know he didn't build it. Don't know the story behind it. Looks to be homemade. Pretty bulky and chunky. I think it is a 45 cal, a .454 sits on the muzzle kinda like my 1860 44. I'm wildly guessing about this. The lock has no half cock, full...

    1860 brass 44 range report

That pic was taken before clean up. The red comes off but man is it harder to clean than powder residue.

    1860 brass 44 range report

Shot my 44 I bought from forum member rebel and I do like this pistol. Now I can't shoot a pistol to save my hide but I do love shooting. Got to the woods at about 7 am and it started raining,so I kicked back had a cigar and waited it out. Rain quit about 7:30. Loaded up my home cast...

Thank you for the reply. That's why I like this place . I also dry tamp. When I wet tamped it pulled out the compound.

    Revolver holsters

I added the leather thong on the holster that I made for my revolver like yours. I like it.

    not shooting

A little late reply but it is wet here so I did go shooting. The fire that comes out a revolver surprised me. Don't blame you for not shooting in dry conditions. Edit. No range cows were injured in the above picture

    Homemade caps in revolver

It's kinda hard to judge 1/3 rd of a scoop like the directions say. I might try with the cap. How full are you filling the cap?

    Homemade caps in revolver

The guy that makes the punch and the compound is in Olathe colorado just north of me and shipping was pretty quick. I used 6 oz acetone and and one 1 oz duco cement that was suggested on this forum and worked better than acetone alone.
