    Bar & Chain oil?

Are you going to buy another saw? If so, use the 1/4 quart in the new saw. Otherwise, use the oil on implements such as shovels to minimize rust and use gun oil on guns.

    Browning an already blued rifle.

Here's a commercial cleaning product you may already have - CLR (calcium, lime and rust). I've used it to remove carbon buildup in centerfire rifles. It will also remove blueing very effectively without harming the metal. I found this out the hard way.

    Kibler side effect?

Read the question in post #1and the answer in post #3. We're now arguing just for the sake of arguing.

    Kibler side effect?

I believe Jim is saying it wouldn't be profitable at this time. Let's hope for his continued success and growth, then it may happen. Makes sense to me.

New Traditions Deerhunter Flint showed up! Any advice?

Thank you for the kind words. However, I think just about everybody on this forum would do the same thing. It's just what we do.

    Dave from Ohio

Welcome from an ex-Ohioan (Lake County). I started shooting ml's in 1968. I started with percussion and now am hooked on flintlocks. You've come to the right place.

    Who can relate

Looks like a workbench. What's the problem?

    Round ball and blood trails

Eterry +1. I've killed a pile of whitetails with a PRB, all with either .50 or .54. Most of them have been does in late season and loaded with fat. I believe in a lot of cases entrance/exit wounds plug with fat and limit or prevent external bleeding.

    Can’t find a rifle!

I also believe you can order the Woodsrunner without ar patchbox. If you have an experienced builder assemble it for you, have the builder add a brass patch box of a design you like.

    Can’t find a rifle!

It is my understanding Kibler sells completed rifles. Just call and get the details.

    Can’t find a rifle!

Flintlocks are considered "unreliable" by folks who don't know how to shoot them. The Pedersoli adds another wrinkle to the learning curve. I'm a Kibler fan based on architecture, quality and performance. Call Kibler and check on the cost/wait time for a completed rifle. Plan B, look for a used...

    Glad to be here.

Went to school in Missoula. I'm a year behind you and really enjoy shooting flintlocks. Welcome!

    Kibler colonial

Wait until the worst case scenario actually occurs. Years ago my wife dropped her rifle from a tree stand (unloaded) and it cracked across the wrist. I was going to buy a replacement stock, but tried a simple repair first (nothing to lose). As I recall, I just forced Titebond into the crack and...

    Bullet Traps & Target Stand

How do you plan to recover the lead and how frequently? I've been meaning to build a woods walk course myself and your range has me fired up!

    Do you gut your deer?

Deer season is a family affair. We usually take 13-15 a year and process all of them. We bag/freeze the trim and have sausage, grillers, etc. commercially made in the off season. That way our trim is not mixed with someone else's meat (who maybe didn't gut it for two days). The season always...

Question/Survey about setting up a "Small Game" Shoot

You're in charge of setting up and running the shoot, so you make the final decision. I agree with with you that the shoot should be open to any legal caliber/bore. Just understand that no matter what you decide, there will be some "experts" that will say you're wrong.

    45 SMR

I just put a toe plate on a walnut stock as well. I never gave that lower butt plate screw a thought. What I thought was a simple task turned into a project. I ended up taking a couple of threads off too, plus figuring out how to get the screw to bite after wallowing out the hole. All's good...

    45 SMR

Did you have any problems with the rear screw on the toe plate hitting the lower butt plate screw?

    How many shots?

I just dialed in a .45 Kibler SMR. Fired over 20 shots, no knapping. The last shot was as fast as the first. It should easily go another 20-30 shots.

Ram rod wont go all the in....im stumped!

I had a slightly different problem. My ramrod was sanded to fit the Kibler SMR, so I stained and finished the ramrod. Several weeks later I couldn't remove the ramrod from the rifle (ramrod hole swelled due to humidity). After eventually extracting the ramrod, I carefully re-drilled the ramrod...
