    Do I need to remove the black finish on a new replacement lock for it to spark properly? If so how should it be done. Thanks.

    Hello frpm PA

    It's been a long time since I've shot or hunted with my flintlock probally about 12 years. I've been too occupied with my inlines. I'm now focused on getting back into the flintlock and the traditional ways. Thinking about upgrading to a new rifle also.
