Look for books to learn aboy Black Powder Revolvers.

Thanks Mike. I have his book on 30 Cal. Service Rifles. I doubt I'll get into gunsmithing on Black Powder Rifles, but I sure need to better understand what the improvements are when I am told, and what could be wrong. Most of Cot Uberti pistols arrived with functional issues (3 out of 4).

Look for books to learn aboy Black Powder Revolvers.

I am interested in learning more about black powder revolvers and in particular their functionality and mechanical aspects. Can you recommend books which describe their internal firing mechanisms and how they are tunned and adjusted? Gunsmithing books? Thanks

Trigger weight on Black Powder Revolvers?

What is the optimum or what do you recommend/use for trigger weight on Uberti Colt replicas? Thanks

    Different Ubertis?

Yes, it is surprizing to me as well. I can substantiate my claims with written correspondance.

    Different Ubertis?

My experience since November 2022 with Uberti and their supply sources: Midway - Colt Walker – returned as damaged and smashed Uberti box – could not be replaced. Midway – Colt Whitneyville – Firing mechanism very hard and cylinder rubbing hard – replaced by Midway. Midway – same above...

    Taylor Uberti better than Uberti?

The lastest is the best. I had an Uberti 1851 Navy Black Powder Revolver on order from Midway - they shipped me a Taylor Uberti!!!! Just arrived. Taylor product packaging with revolver rug/pouch in a Midway shipping carton and label. The revolver seems to operate fine.

    Taylor Uberti better than Uberti?

Going forward, can you recommend a gunsmith who can take my Uberis and make sure they are well "tuned" and functional? The last one I returned has issues being half cocked and when full cocked you could not ride the hammer back down because it would catch half way - it had to be fired.

    Taylor Uberti better than Uberti?

Ditto. Actually, it is appauling but documented. I started off a collection of Uberi Colt replicas. My above post is what I have experienced.

    Taylor Uberti better than Uberti?

Firing trigger mechanism mainly, half cock pb or indexing problem, one impossible to remove barrel, one stuck cylinder. All quality issues which may be mitigated with a decent final product QC.

    Taylor Uberti better than Uberti?

I am new to Black Powder revolvers and planning on a collection of Colt replicas. I received 5 new Ubertis from Midway since November - The first two: Walker & Whitney were defective and returned to Midway - The Walker was credited as no replacement was available. The Whitney was replaced. - The...

    Midway

I received 4 Ubertis from Midway since November - 1 was exchanged by them and 2 went to Uberti Warranty. All brand new and never fired. That's 75% quality rejection rate!

    Uberti Whitneyville Dragoon Quality?

OK, a little more aggressive than what I would have thought. Many thanks.

    Uberti Whitneyville Dragoon Quality?

45D: "Put the hammer on half cock and use the loading lever to pry the barrel assy off. (Plunger will be between chambers). I tried and failed. Thanks or the info.

    Uberti Whitneyville Dragoon Quality?

Thanks, but I still have the barrel removal issue...

    Uberti Whitneyville Dragoon Quality?

I removed the wedge easily by taking it out with a light nylon tipped gunsmith hammer to remove the barrel. The cylinder was binding but could be rotated with some strength. I simply lightly tapped it back in and the cylinder will not rotate. How do you fix short arbors?

    Uberti Whitneyville Dragoon Quality?

I have received 2 x Uberti Whitneyville Dragons. The first from November went back to the distributor and was replaced (Firing mechanism was defective). The second from December has been returned to Uberti (Distributor refused to take it back because I cleaned the grease on the outside). The...

Colt Whitneyville Dragoon Barrel Removal Problem

Well, I gets better. I tried rotating the cylinder, it was binding in one spot and now it is now stuck! I fear the problem is much worse than I expected.

Colt Whitneyville Dragoon Barrel Removal Problem

Corrected: I bought a new Uberti Whitneyville Dragoon. I am new to BP revolvers. Whereas I can pull the barrel off my 1861 Navy, I cannot, pulling by hand, remove it on the Whitneyville. Any suggestions on how to remove it without damaging the pistol? Thanks
