    Stupid, stupid, stupid

All I can think of is Woody Harrelson talking about the "perffute of happineff."

    Stupid, stupid, stupid

My dad started me on muzzleloaders a long time ago. I never dry balled. Not even once. Until about two weeks ago. I was teaching my 10 year old about loading muzzleoaders. About the time I pushed the short starter down, I realized we had skipped the powder. Luckily, I had a ball puller with...

    WANTED WTB: Small bore flintlock

I'm looking for a .32 cal flintlock in the Southern Mountain Rifle / Tennessee / Poor Boy style. Iron mounted, not brass. If you have the Dixie Gun Works version from the late '70s / early '80s, I would also consider percussion as drop in flintlocks are still available. I'll consider .36 as well.

    Frustration

I decided on a Kibler a while ago. I just have too many irons in the fire right now.

    Frustration

This guy was spooked about shipping to CA from the start. I actually understand that part. Apparently, he went to his local FFL after UPS turned him down and they told him they don't ship anything to CA. I just messaged him to see if he would ship to my FIL in PA. It makes more sense for me...

    Frustration

Last week, I found a SMR style flintlock that was exactly what I have wanted for a long time. Seller was in Tennessee and was very nervous about shipping to California. I offered to use a receiving FFL if it made him feel more comfortable. Funds were sent. Rifle was taken to UPS. UPS...

    scored some caps

My current stash has started running low since my 10 year old has started asking for the muzzleloader to come along on range trips. Luckily, I found 3F and caps at the LGS down the street. Prices were a little on the high side but not terribly.

    Vent Hole Liner

The bad news is that the liner might be seized beyond the point of easy removal (likely). The good news is that it the rifle will probably work just fine the way it is. Do you have any reason to believe the touch hole is not clear all the way through? If not, we can move on to other options.

    Hello from the Mojave

Mojave (the town) is about an hour SW from here. Mojave (the desert) is in all directions. Definitely no shortage of places to shoot.

    Hello from the Mojave

I've been lurking for a while and decided it was time to join. I've been muzzleloading off and on since my dad got me interested in the '70s. I've always shot caplocks, but I have a strong pull towards getting a flintlock soon. After that will come my introduction to casting because I will...
