FOR SALE REDUCED to $400 Beautiful "Antiqued" Engraved 1851 44 Pietta In Presentation Case

Fellas, I am selling some handguns in order to acquire some long guns. Pardon the janky photography. My daughter went off to college with my Nikon, and I haven't seen it since. A few years ago I acquired this item from a chap on Gunbroker with the handle "Saxmann2." He takes modern...

    Making paper cartridges-my solution

Yeah, good point Flint. I use the paper that came with Guns of the West. Didn't double up, but I probably just have poor manual dexterity to wrap them well. The hang-fire rate has been improving as I go along.

    Making paper cartridges-my solution

Thank you! I use 24gr Pyrodex P for .36, and 30gr for .44. I just use the spouts from my powder flask. I think about 25 gr would be better for .44 but I'm too lazy to measure that out each time. I do have too much paper over the ball. Think I need to cut it so that about half of the...

Bullseye Shooting with Pietta Navys, some random observations

Stan, where did you get the loading stand? Does it only do one caliber, or can you swap out .36 and .44? Thanks

Bullseye Shooting with Pietta Navys, some random observations

Stan, I read your previous posts about antiquing the brassies with vinegar, and I tried it. I worked perfectly.

    Making paper cartridges-my solution

Nice-looking cartridges. I've had the same issue, but just made sure that the opening was just wide enough to take in the ball. So the body of the cartridge has a (sort of) snow cone effect. The plastic former obviously is shaped to do that. I roll the ball around on the end of the glue...

    Overpriced sellers

I've noticed quite a few older ASM, FIE, Pietta, etc. revolvers being listed for well over the price of a new Pietta or Uberti on Gunbroker. Makes no sense. Correct me if I'm wrong (something of a newbie), but these replicas made from the 70s to the aughts are not as finely made as the new...

    Is the "P" word OK?

Same. They work fine. Have not tried them in a single-shot Kentucky type firearm.

Every Website that "has" caps seems to be a scam

Wondering what #10 caps are used for.....seems like every nipple is designed for #11s. Maybe just the 1849 31 calibers...?
