    Pandemic Auction Revolver "Phenomena"

The virus decimated Italy because the Chinese government allowed the air corridor from Wuhan Province ( and no others ) to Italian airports to remain open. Probably bribed the Italian government to keep their end open too. This was because Chinese have been buying up lots of Italian companies...

How to ream cylinders and to what size?

The cylinder is the big round thingie with 7 holes in it. Chambers are the 6 holes where the powder and balls go.

Very stuck minie ball, tried everything having to pull the breech plug

Probably a wise choice. May have a long turnaround time though.

Very stuck minie ball, tried everything having to pull the breech plug

First order of business is to make sure there is no burnt powder residue left in the barrel causing rust to quietly form under the oil you put in the barrel trying to get the bullet out. Next, just send it to someone who knows about working on antique muzzleloaders to remove the breech plug...

Got to shoot my .36 today.

I had a .36 flint rifle years ago. Even though it probably weighed around 8 pounds or so, it had a surprising (but not painful) amount of recoil when shooting 50 to 60 grains of 3f powder.

First Flint bore charge not going off.

Chambered ( Patent ) breeches have a strong potential to create ignition problems. They can be harder to clean than traditional breeching arrangements. You definitely need to get a copper bore brush that is a kind of a loose fit in the reduced inside diameter of the antechamber, attach it to...

    Spru possition

I used to be a competitive military and civilian shooter and totally understand what you mean.

    Spru possition

I do not pay any attention to sprue location in revolvers. Most of my molds are the Lee brand which do not leave a protrusion where the lead is poured in. I also tumble them before use to make them more uniform. Do not worry too much about surface irregularities when loading the chambers. The...

    Fort Fredrick Market Fair- Maryland

Would love to go but it is too far from SW MO. About a two-day drive each way. Am a little leery of the politics in that part of the country too.

    Uberti Harpers Ferry Pistol

A friend has a Uberti 1803 (?) Harpers Ferry flint pistol. The hammer and frizzen springs are too weak to make good sparks. Does anyone still make replacement locks for this gun? Do they use the same lock as the 1803 Harpers Ferry rifle?

    T/C Hawken woes

The Patent Breech is likely the source of your problems. They can be reliable, but you have to constantly work at it. I swore off of them decades ago. They add unnecessary complexity to what should be a pretty straightforward barrel/breech design.

    pa pellet

Why not ditch the pellets and simply pour a measured amount of real 3F black powder down the bore when loading. It’s not that hard.

Hawken Rifles, What's All The Hoopla?!

Being shorter they would have been easier to manage on a horse. But there were plenty of other long guns that were as short as the Hawken and Dimmick rifles.

Hawken Rifles, What's All The Hoopla?!

Hawken barrels may have been shorter than eastern rifles, but they added even more weight because of the much thicker barrels.

    Ordering cannon fuse

Did the carrier know what was in the box? I would be really surprised a USPS worker behind the counter would want anything to do with it if they knew what it was.

    Belly Box

Man, what did you do to your thumb nail? It hurts me just to look at it! Belly box looks good, BTW.

    Caps Made In Idaho

Another consideration is that they would have to pay taxes on any unsold inventory on hand at the end of the year if they ever made too many.

Patent Breech Investarms Hawken failures to fire

Some people you just can’t help.
