    My gun shot a buck!.....

But it was my 'loaner' and I wasn't carrying it. A few of us were hunting close to home here and had over 30 deer moving including 2 good bucks and about 5 smaller ones. My cousins each missed a shot and then a big group came running up to our 15 yr. old friend. He made a good 40? yd shot...

    Bob Paris guns

Does anybody have a gun made by Bob Paris or a gun with a barrel or other parts made by him? I just got a swivelbreech with .50 cal. barrels 38" long, one rifled and one smooth. The action and barrels are by Paris. I'd like to hear about how nice your guns are, esp. swivelbreeches. Thanks

    Percussion to flint

What all is involved if I were to try to convert a drop-in Green Mtn. 15/16" .54 cal. percussion barrel to flintlock? Is it very complicated? Does anybody know who would do something like that? I'd appreciate your thoughts and comments. Thanks Mtn. Rifle

    Got my deer

My brother and I took our flintlocks out on Saturday for the first time this season. We went up to the State Game Lands where we normally hunt. We could hear a 'gang' driving somewhere but weren't sure exactly where they were so we decided to go partway up the mountain and sneak along like we...

    TC percussion to flint?

How similiar are Thompson Center percussion and flintlock locks and barrels? Could a percussion gun with be changed to a flint barrel and lock? I suspect that it wouldn't quite work but I don't know how dif. they are. Mtn. Rifle

    replacing a ramrod

I broke the ramrod for a Pedersoli Kentucky pistol in .54 caliber. I found an aluminum rod on Pedersoli's site. I don't think I want that. I found a sort of loading rod short starter with a 10" rod which would work well to load and clean but not to carry in the gun. Is there an alternative to...

    Custom drop in for TC

Green Mtn. makes a 36" 15/16 54 caliber rifled barrel. Is there anybody who would put a breech plug, under lug and sights on one of these barrels to fit a TC Hawken stock? Would it cost as much as a new .54 cal. TC gun? Does anybody have a barrel like this? Input and answers would be...

    Grabbed a Lyman GPH

I stopped at a local gun shop the other day and noticed a Lyman Great Plains flintlock behind the counter. It was a .54 Hunter that looked to be new except for some scratches on the frizzen. For $300 I brought it home with me. I'm planning to shoot balls but before I get a slow twist barrel I...
