    Howdy I have a old US Whitney musket that needs some wood glued in around the lock area. Near the rear of the lock area. Old old 1798 model. Anyone know of any stock smiths who are very good? Thanks Paul

    1840 French Mutzig nipple ?

    Hi Do any of you know where to get a replacement nipple for my old French musket? .70-71 caliber. It’s marked 1843, I believe it’s a 1840 model. Measures like .330 so 8.3 mm..... I’m guessing metric due to made Mutzig across the pond. The nipple is good though I’d like to preserve it too...

    Shot the old girl yesterday again, of 6 shots at 50 yds 3 in the bull, one just out. The first shot was high, because I figured out I need to hold 6” low to bull at 50. The last shot was left a foot but up and down good, I’m blaming a moskito bite. Load was 70 gr powder, two thin veggi wads...

    Howdy, Spoke with Bobby tonight. He said it's screwed, but keep my eyes open for even a nice exterior outside one, ( bore rusted ect) and he'll fix me up with a good shooting new lined one. He said being that there are cracks in the breech area it's not safe to fix. Likely someone long ago...
