    Patched round balls or conicals for big game?

    I have shot somewhere in the neighborhood of a dozen deer with patched round balls using 45, 50, and 54 calibers.     Pedersoli Traditional Hawken .58 Flint

    I was unaware that pedersoli produced anything in 58 cal. I love big bore guns for hunting, not so much for matches and competition.I think $450.00 is a fair price as long as its got a good bore and the lock works well. How does it spark?

    Another CVA Mountain Rifle Question

    I totally agree , I have owned a couple of the CVA Mountain rifles and think they are excellent production rifles. The fact is that there are a lot of them out there so $350.00 would be my max, and for that price I would hope it to be an American made, $250.00 for a later model made in spain.
