    Another barrel for Lyman Deerstalker

Does anyone out there make barrels for the Lyman Deerstalker? I'm specifically looking for a .32-.36 caliber for small game. Is it possible to just switch out barrels for the same gun? Is it stupid to want two different barrels for the same gun?

    New flintlock break-in?

I read somewhere that the flint that comes with the Deerstalker is too hard and will shorten the life of the frizzen. Is this true? I turned the flint bevel side up (opposite the way it was from the factory) and am now getting a shower of sparks like I've never seen before.

    New flintlock break-in?

Thank you for all the help with the fly. I currently don't have any plans to take it out or modify anything. I'll learn to live with it as it is. 🙂 Unless it becomes a problem with the hammer hitting the frizzen hard enough.

    New flintlock break-in?

More than likely I'll be shooting a patched round ball. May experiment with conicals though.

    New flintlock break-in?

Hello all, I just bought a new Lyman Deerstalker yesterday and am very excited to shoot it. But I got to wondering if there is anything I should do to it before I shoot it? I do have some flintlock experience, but I know Dad and I didn't do anything special to our first flintlock before we shot...
