    TAYLOR'S & COMPANY

I live near them in VA and think their products and service has been excellent. I had a problem with an 1860 RM Conversion and brought it to them and their gunsmith on staff made it right at no charge.

    Wholesale Hunter

I would not give them any business at all. Was a customer once, never again. On the other hand, Dixie Gun Works, Track of the Wolf, and Taylor's have been excellent to me.

    Oiling?

I'm a Ballistol guy, and never had a problem. Use it on my percussion pistols, black powder Open Tops, and all my long arms too.

What did I do wrong with GPR

For my GPR, I made up an small air hose attachment with an end fitting that threads into the nipple hole. After cleaning, I blast some compressed air through to insure the channel is clear. Fine rifle BTW.

SOLD Pedersoli Brown Bess Carbine - New in Box

Never loaded or fired, or even snapped - but the frizzen has some scratches, probably from the factory. 35" barrel makes for handy length in the field, .75 cal smoothbore. With box and paperwork. $825 shipped.

    .58 cal Load question

To clarify, I'm shooting 45g (by weight) of FFG, and a Rapine thin skirted Minie.

    .58 cal Load question

The most accurate load in my .58 Amoskeag Special Contract 1862 is 45 grains. You're burning an awful lot of powder...

Wind Drift RB vs Conical ...

OBX - what load are you using? My .54 GPR wouldn't shoot worth a hoot with 40 or 50g FFg, but is a right on with 70g. Maybe the slower velocity has a 'knuckleball' effect...
