Thanks for the reply JD. I just measured the barrel and from muzzle to where the tang starts it is 42", but it is not swamped.
I know the measurements you gave me dont jibe with it ,but that is what it is. And Greg looked it over real good and said its not swamped.

I think "swaging"means,,,,,, done by pressure or striking the object.

Hi, just wornding about patching balls in a Ruger .44 old army. Did you use .457 balls? I have never patched a ball in a rev. of any cal.
If it shaves lead when loading, the is no way the ball should be patched. just my thoughts.
