    Lookin to have one built

I do like that and I live in Westmoreland county about 20 min from Delmont. So that would really be a nice through back to my area's history. On that note does anyone here go to the shoots at Bushy Run.

    Lookin to have one built

I am willing to spend up to 2k right now and the length of build is not of concern to me. It could actually become a two rifle build. One for me and one for the better half. I know what i want in the rifle/ rifle's and they would both be pretty much the same except my wife is wrong handed. So...

    Lookin to have one built

Just lookin to see who yinz would recommend to do a build. I know I want a .45 or .50 in either Bedford school or a nice North Carolina Piedmont style. Would do it myself but inexperience with wood work and such made me double think buying a kit and just destroying it. Thanks

    stupid regulation in Arkansas

back before they came out with these wmu's I remember reading that it had to be a muzzleloader with flint and steel ignition. That would include snaphaunce's, wheel locks or any other flint and steel ignition systems right. But since they have clarified it as a flintlock. God I wish they would...

    stupid regulation in Arkansas

in Allegheny and Westmoreland counties in Pa you can hunt with a Muzzleloader, shotgun, bow or crossbow. But not a centerfire pistol cartridge. Makes sense right. Considering I use buffalo bore ammo for my .357mag and it chronos around 1700 w/ 800ft/lbs with a 125 grn hp. Where as a 12ga slug...

    carry a '51

Size I don't think makes a big deal when trying to conceal unless it is something as big as a buntline. My wife said I couldnt carry my .357 with 6 in barrel because it was to big. In spite I bought a compression holster and modified it to fit the thing. Went up to her and said well can you see...

burn marks from touch hole on flash pan

So I turned the slot and put another lock on earlier today and I didn't notice anything out of the norm right off I will give it a few days of shooting and see if that makes a difference. This in particular Hawkens I have was made in 1972 by a guy in my hometown of Freeport PA. I have been...

2f better than 3f in flintlock

Here is what I have noticed about the guys who shoot 3f, is it is not for accuracy or speed of ignition but the not having to carry multiple powders. They just use both for main charge and pan. to each there own but the one time I ran out of 4f at the range and used a pan charge of 2f and it...

burn marks from touch hole on flash pan

On my Hawkins I started to notice that my flash pan has a Burn mark like that of what a torch would do. I have never noticed it until today and it looks fresh. I haven't changed the touch hole diameter on it since i got it years ago. if anyone could point me in the right direction if they have...

2f better than 3f in flintlock

Nuts thinking there is a vacuum just a high pressure and a lower pressure. if there was a vacuum the ball wouldn't exit if it was behind or if it was in front the ball would go unstable. But then we already have a instability when the ball exits, from an event called the magnus moment. Or the...

2f better than 3f in flintlock

Ok I mention making bp and get flagged for it and I didnt give proportions only ingredients. Everyone thought I was nuts for making the suggestion, because people where complaining it was hard to find. So why hasnt this been scrutinized yet

How do you judge target distance

Go to a football field, pace it out in 25 yd increments. Note your paces, then go out guess the range to a specific point and then pace it out. Do this until you can accurately guess it out every time within a 10 yds.

    Federal Hunting license

good point on that, But here is a suggestion not being putting off a political view but the only way it would work is to vote for Ted Nuggent.

    Federal Hunting license

I came up with this idea a few years ago when my Dad moved to South Carolina. A Federal Hunting License so you don't have to spend 1000's to hunt multiple states. Still have the seasons and limits set by the states. Which each would be able to determine what there needs are individually. Who...

Just Got done Offing Some Coyotes

Judging by where you are from I am going to go out on the limb and guess you are Army, or have something to do with the Army. Without ever looking at your profile. But where are you originally from. Picture being in PA where there is areas where the coyotes are as thick as syrup at good times...
