Positive aspects of the product (pros): Civil war brogans are relatively inexpensive and fit well. The flexible tops aid in pulling the shoe on.
Negative aspects of the product (cons): Leather heels wear quickly on pavement but that is a common problem with all brogans.if steel heel plates are not used.

I purchased a pair of Fugawee civil war brogans without heel plates and hobnails to wear on pavement during special events. I have two pairs of another, more expensive brogans with hob-nails and heel plates to wear on dirt and grass.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Excellent folks to deal with!
Negative aspects of the product (cons):

Although it may not be "period incorrect", the toe boxes in Fugawee's 18th century shoes are very "shallow". I've worn their shoes but have since switched to another makers' only for my comfort's sake. YMMV!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Well made with quailty leathers
Negative aspects of the product (cons): Leather soles and heels are slippery but...they are period.

I ordered a pair of the "Concord" shoes with buckles, and a pair of the "Treking" boots. Althought I have narrow feet both pair fit well, look good and are comfortable. I would buy from them again. Fast reasonable shipping.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Friendly, OK shoes
Negative aspects of the product (cons): Wore extremely fast

First pair of reenactor shoes I bought. Ok at first, but then the heel nails came through the bottom. IMO, they are a one-year pair of shoes if you do a lot of reenacting. Buy metal plates for the heels!

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Well made period shoes.
Negative aspects of the product (cons):

Well made shoes but you will need to be careful if the ground is wet. Being leather soles watch your footing when walking on slopes. I added "hob nails" to the edge of the soles and heels which cured the problem. Now I can't go inside on the hard wood floors or I'm in deep trouble. The Jefferson boots I ordered are with the straight foot pattern (will fit either foot). If you get this style mark inside them for right "R" and left "L" (makes for a little more comfort when worn for a while). Good product, recommended.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): surprisingly comfortable, great to deal with.
Negative aspects of the product (cons):

I bought the wrong size Jefferson / Hi-Lo's, and they swapped them with no questions asked. They even paid to send the new pair to me! Since then, I've been surprised how comfortable they are. I'm a happy buyer.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): Reputable company
Negative aspects of the product (cons):

I bought a pair of their Hi-Low trekkers a few years ago. They are still going strong. Were a bear to break in and the soles are slippery as already noted but they aren't modern Danner's either. The price is well worth the wear.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): They want you to be happy with your purchase. They go to lengths to help satisfy your purchase experience.
Negative aspects of the product (cons): I didn't have any.

I have the brown HiLo's. I initially got a size larger than I needed do to their suggestion for fit. After correspondence, I sent them back and they sent me the size in a wide that I wanted and they fit perfectly. I've waterproofed and have been using them for the fifth season of reenacting the F&I.I never wear them on concrete or othe rmodern hard serfaces.

Positive aspects of the product (pros): EE is a nice fit for me, I wish I could wear them everyday
Negative aspects of the product (cons): none yet

First pair was mistakenly labeled wrong. marked EE insole, D width in tongue actually one was a EE the other a D. I was ticked until I called them and they were very hard to stay upset with. i sent them back and was wearing a new correct pair before the week was over. very nice to deal with.
