Description: Gobbler Knob Custom Longrifles are patterned after rifles built during the "Golden Age" of the Pennsylvania longrifle, which is generally considered to be from 1775 to 1825. They also produce "Collector-Grade", box turkey calls.

Pros: Very accurate, nice woodwork and inlays
Cons:

I have one of Rick's guns and it was very well done. I'll be shooting it during our late flintlock season in a few days. Not sure what email you're using Mule skinner but Rick will reply at info@gobblerknoblongrifles.com

Pros: NONE
Cons: ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING

I wasted several years dealing with this guy. I received two sewer pipes on sticks from him that he tried to pass off as custom built rifles. He refused to accept any responsibility for the absolutely crappy "workmanship". The barrel on one rifle was damaged so badly as to render it unusable. I sent the barrel to the manufacturer for inspection and an opinion. The barrel is less than junk and cannot be salvaged. The barrel has never been fired, and it is a total loss.
The second rifle very nearly killed me at the range. It was being fired by another person. I was standing twenty feet away from the shooter. The vent liner blew out and missed my head by six inches and struck a tree behind me. The vent liner also missed the head of another shooter. We took pictures. There were four of us there to witness what happened. This rifle had approximately fifty rounds through it. On inspecting the vent hole I found it to be oblong, having been drilled out of round. The threads that were supposed to be in the vent hole to accept a vent liner were not all there. I guess it must be pretty difficult to thread an oval hole with a round tap.
I could go on... My best advice is to not do business with this builder.

I intend to post photos of the failed vent hole liner.
