A Roy Stroh built New England Fowler. He used a 32" Colerain smoothbore .12ga barrel set into a beautiful piece of hard maple. Big Chambers Virginia lock, French style brass hardware, carving and silver/brass wire inlay.

I cannot say enough about the man and his work. Roy helped me realize a dream. Being wheelchair bound, longrifles are some what cumbersome and not very user friendly for someone in my position so I need a scaled down version in order to use it comfortably. Roy captured everything I wanted in this Fowler. I could not be anymore happier and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a wonderful experience in having a custom gun built.

Roy built me a Jacob Dickert from a TOTW kit and provided me with a gun that looks as if it had been in a museum cabinet for many years. It has that aged look of the beautiful style typified by the Pennsylvania gun builders. It's not shiny or garish but looks old. It is a pleasure to shoot and I expect a deer this year with the .50 calibre making meat for me. Pasquenel a/k/a Bob Riegl.

Roy put a chambers kit (early Lancaster) together for me, very well done.Roy is one class act.He finished the rifle exactly the way I wanted it, and shipped it earlier than I expected.

roy built the dunlop/haines rifle on his web site. i know its a kit....but there is no way this " KIT " was meant to turn out like it did. it is way beyond a kit build ! it is a rifle that i will never part with .
but the best part of dealing with roy is his honesty, he gladly took time to tell me what was going on any time i called him, and when i hung up the phone from a conversation with him, i knew there was NO B.S. going on.

I just realized I've really been remiss in not posting this sooner. (Sorry, Roy.)
I ordered my very first ever custom gun from Roy, a 14 bore English commercial trade gun / fowler with a 48" tapered octagon to round barrel and an early English round face lock. This was based on a lot of research he did for me after we talked about my interests, etc. It turned out to be even better than I thought it would be. Fantastic.
In fact, I liked it so much that I bought a second flintlock from him: his .45 Southern Po' boy long rifle with a 44" swamped barrel and deluxe Chambers Siler lock. These are absolutely my two favorite guns, and I own more than a few. (Both of these can be seen on Roy's website, btw.)
And when I had a little concern about the rear rifle sight and my old-and-gettin'-older eyes, he offered to adjust it for me at no cost! Now that's a man who stands behind his work. A real old world craftsman that I'd recommend to anyone without hesitation. Very friendly and easy to work with.
Top notch all the way.
