The Great Plains Rifle Kit was easy to build. I put one together in .54 caliber flintlock. The stock comes pre-inlet for all of the parts. All you have to do is file/sand the wood flush with the parts. There is plenty of wood on the stock to shape as you like. The parts were not very rough and easy to finish.
The only problem I had was with the escutcheon screws. They are so small and brittle I broke one off. You can avoid this by putting some soap or wax on the screw threads before installing. I recommend getting some slightly larger, stronger screws.
Overall it was a great peoject that only took about 20 hours to complete.

Midsouth consistently has the lowest prices on muzzleloaders and accessories. Their shipping rates are fair and they ship super fast. I have never had the need to pay for special shipping. I always get my shipment within 3-4 days after placing an order.
