I'm looking for a thimble to fit a CVA Sharpshooter (although I'm fairly sure any 7/16" thimble would do) I'm looking for one wth te sling stud attatched, so I can fit a sling to my half-stock rifle. I've seen them on the Lyman GPR & others in the Lyman range.
If anyone has one kicking around, I'd really appreciate a shout!

Thanks,

Haven't had the chance to work on them yet.

The first one is english walnut. Shaped to approximate a dragoon style pistol. About 19 inches in length, about 6 inches in biggest width. 1.75 inches thick. Nicer than standard stock. Price is $20 obo.

Second one is more exotic. It's Hawaiian Koa wood. Suitable for firearms. 19 inches long, 5 inches at biggest width, 2 inches at smallest width. 2.25 inches thick. Also was cut for a dragoon style pistol in mind. Price is $100 obo. I have never seen any other piece of wood come close to how beautiful this is. I may just keep it. If a professional gunsmith is interested in making a custom flintlock pistol for me, please let me know.

Shipping not included in the price. Price is negotiable.

Included is a 1 year old Lyman .54 percussion GPR and a ton of accessories to include range rod, powder measures, patches, round balls, cleaning misc., etc. Everything you'll need to go hunt except the powder and caps! The gun is in excellent condition and has only had about 30 rounds through it at the range. A great gun and a real tack driver, I have just decided to stick with my bow. The stock which has a oakleaf and acorn relief carving (also my initials very small on the bottom side behind the trigger guard)was stripped and refinished with linseed oil. A very nice satin finish. I can e-mail pics to anyone who is interested.

Nothing expensive, nothing fancy, just need one to try out squirrel/rabbit hunting.

I have an older CVA Hawken available to trade. It's a .50 cal with real walnut stock. I recently refinished the stock with a tungoil finish and browned the barrel. Bore is pitted, but is clean and completely functional. Has fiberglass ramrod, 1:48 twist barrel (28" long, 1" across flats). The wood to brass fit isn't the greatest, but this is a shooter and a fine hunter. Hate to get rid of it, but she rarely gets used with a Renegade in the house.

Stout Longhunters Knife w/ sheathe

Posted by: aprayinbear

Description: This is a sturdy longhunter style knife appropriate for the 1740-1800 reinactor or anyone who appreciates a well made hand forged blade. Overall length is 12 3/4" while the blade is 7 3/4" long. This is a stout blade measuring approximately 3/16" thick along much of its length until it tapers to its point. The blade was hand forged from 1095 steel and takes an edge well. Its is sharp, so watch those fingers.

The handle was made from a whitetail antler shed and is wrapped with thick rawhide to give a tough grip for those with medium to large hands. The blade is pinned with copper pins and the handle is completed with a poured and hammered pewter bolster. The knife has been appropriately aged to give a well used historical look.

The sheath is hand stitched and welted, and was made from tough 7-9oz vegetable tanned leather (rough side out for a better grip). A portion of the sheathe is wrapped in rawhide and a handmade heart shaped rivet was added for extra strength.

As with all my knives, the blade is stamped with a simple cross.

I believe this sight was originally intended for a Winchester Model 70 National Match or Heavy Barrel. An inside edge and one inside corner of the sight base have been ground off but this alteration does not affect use on a muzzleloader, and probably not for a Model 70 either.
