My buddy is wanting me to make him a 45 caliber woods runner. He is asking about weight and balance. Kibler web site says around 8 pounds. He has shot my 54 but wants 45 cal for woods walk shooting. I told him I'd ask here prior to ordering. I don't know anyone who's built the 45 woodsrunner but know 25 that have SMR's in 45. So from those that have how is it.
 
The 45 is bit heavier and the weight is slightly farther forward. Now that my buddy has his and felt my 54 he’s talking about getting a larger bore barrel for his. Just his opinion and mine as well.

If you can get a 13/16s (across flats) in .45 cal from Green Mtn they make up in to a really light full stock gun.
 
I’ve built all three. The 45 is a bit heavy for me, the 54 a little too light at the muzzle for good offhand target shooting. The 50 is just right for targets, 54 just right for hunting.
These are just my opinions, but I’m old, and not as strong as I used to be.
