Junkman, Thanks, I never paid any attention to that before. Well, now I have a quick project for today :idunno: Schutzenkette

    CVA Kentucky Pistol?

This happened the first time I ever fired this pistol. Couple of 40 grain charges and then I finally settled on 30 grains as being the most accurate out of it. I got it home and found this. This was several years ago and I came here asking questions as to how to go about fixing it. Ended up with...

    CVA Kentucky Pistol?

They are not bad pistols and the one I have shoots well and is fairly accurate. Beware, Sneezy speaks the truth as you can see... Schutzenkette

    Sure-fire loading technique

I follow most of the same advice that has already been posted. The only change for me is that after I finish wiping the barrel with alcohol and drying it I normally put a clean patch on my jag and run it back down the bore and I pop a couple of caps while the patch is down there to catch any...

Welcome home and thank you! If you are deployed again take one of the front stuffers with you, that will scare the h%$l out of them! Seriously, please enjoy what you have worked so hard to defend. Best, Schutzenkette

    Left side lock?

Well I'll just have to give FFFg a try and see how it works out before I monkey around with FFFFg. I wish you could get it in less than 1 pound cans. A pound would last a looong time with no more than you have to use. :v

    Left side lock?

I hope I do as well tg. I need to get some ffffg for the pan but if I don't get some before I get the chance to shoot it I'll just try some fffg and see how that goes. Schutzenkette

    Left side lock?

The GPR is finally in my grubby little hands! Nice looking rifle. Tried the lock out and it throws an impressive shower of sparks. It has a fiber optic sight on the front end which glows like crazy but I am not real keen on how it looks. The 57 GPR rear sight is nice too but I think...

    loading

I do not mean to scare anyone but rather to inform. I have read and heard about a flask or powder horn becoming a very good imatation of a hand grenade but I've never saw a photo or any real documentation of such an event. Being rather fond of my fingers and eyes as well as other portions of...

    Left side lock?

Still waiting. Had to work all weekend and Saturday nobody was here to sign for it so it now is sitting in the local post office until Tuesday. Patience is a virtue but dang I really want to check it out. Wednesday my wife has to have some fairly substantial surgery so looking is all I will...

    loading

I have loaded from the flask but only after making very, very, very sure that there was nothing left burning in a chamber. Better to use something to pour the powder in from the flask and then into the cylinder. Having said that if you still load from the flask and you find a load you like...
