    Can You Help?

So far in my life, I have done a lot, seen a lot, helped where I can, etc... However, I won't venture into an area I know nothing about. (brain surgery comes to mind since some say I need a brain myself) I agree with the OP about not delving into something they did not know about. That said...

Very stuck minie ball, tried everything having to pull the breech plug

And I understand that you are not trying to be rude. Sorry, just went to YouTube for a few minutes of tornado videos. At this point it sounds like you are going to need to weld a screw to a steel rod to screw into the bullet to try to pull it out. You will need to clamp the barrel in a vice...

Very stuck minie ball, tried everything having to pull the breech plug

Pyrodex is not black powder. Okay. Remove the nipple. Turn the gun sideways to the nipple hole is facing slightly down. Tap on the barrel to try to remove as much of the Pyrodex as you can. Refill as much as you can with 3 or 4F. If it is just a few grains of 3 or 4F, you will not be...

Very stuck minie ball, tried everything having to pull the breech plug

Did you dry ball it? When you say you tried to blast it out, what do you mean, with air, with powder? The Doc is out now, but will look for your answers to diagnose your problem.

    Black powder on smokeless ranges

Our chief range officer, a delightful fellow who used to be so steady at shooting that we would explain that rigor mortis had set in to newbies, has developed some breath problems when black powder is used. It also bothers him to shoot now in our indoor range. Since he is our oldest and most...

Percussion Shooting Thru steel??? Is that possible...??

Mark, that steel is still good. Just hammer out those dents and go for more. The holes will close up a bunch when you hammer them down, too. The Doc is out now.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Happiness for the Doc today. I found my missing short pan primer in the last place I looked for it. Of course, I managed to overlook it before in the same spot, several times. Now I have to start getting disorganized again. The Doc is out now.

Same. I have three excluding cap and ball pistols. .54, .50 and .45. Each has its' own purpose of target or hunting, and often, both. The Doc is out now.

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

This looking around for things is turning up more items. Although I have not found my small pan primer, I did just a little bit ago find my combo tool of pan brush, vent pick and multi-head thumb screwdriver on a ring. Yesterday, too, my wife saved me a bunch of money that I was going to spend...

What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

Found the missing screwdriver with the bit that perfectly fits my Kibler lock jaw screw. in the meantime, I find I am missing a small pan primer. However, since I have a larger pan primer and like it more, I will not dwell on this. The Doc is out now.

    Kibler Fowler

Now that I have found the Kibler guns, and the locks that come with them, and having found that Paul Valandigham article, I can't imagine using others' makes of locks. (Save for my Pedersoli Jaeger flinter). Yes, Rocklocks are an acquired taste, but it is a great taste. Speaking of which, it's...
