    .454 use in .45 or .50 Flintlock.

    I think your going to make shooting your gun a whole lot less like fun and a lot more like work hammering the 454s down your barrel, and could be turning it into a bomb if you leave any air space between powder and ball, because of build up of lead and powder rez, just don't sound like a safe...

    I have worked all the gun stock woods with no problem, but I can NOT work Padauk (not a stock wood)two days after working it on my lathe I was in the hospital with a getting much worse body rash and had problems breathing, good way to find out if you can work with a wood is rub a little dust...

    help!! sick to my stomach

    I'm no expert, but I would drill for a liner or I would thread the old hole run a bolt in with some lock tight, then drill a new hole.

    Converting from perc. to flint?

    The caplock hawkin rifle you have, I think has a patent breech, and you cant use a flintlock with that breech, you will need a barrel made for that type of lock. The CVA guns have a drum and nipple, you can switch over at will with them, I just did that myself and have to say what a hoot :)...

    Any Spike Knives Out There

    I dont like them for knives ... but I have made a few, I think they make better hawks. This one was done with the spike head being the cutting edge. Darrel
