Couple of questions for you: 1. How big is your swivel gun, what is the bore diameter? 2. Do you use it for firing blanks or for firing a round of some type? I use a 3' length of round fence post with iron bands at the top and bottom. The top is drilled and shaped to take the tapered end of...

Just curious if any of you have fired wood balls from your swivel guns or cannons? I talked briefly with a couple of guys last weekend who had been on an artillery crew that fired wood balls from their 3 pounder. They didn't have any details about powder charge, wadding, etc. The idea...

First time on a cannon crew

    need swivel gun mount ?

You might also want to either visit or contact Ft. Ligionier over at Ligioner, PA. I've seen swivel guns there and know that they have a very impressive artillery park.

    Flash Guards

Dan, You might try looking on Track's website for an adapter bolt with a nut that allows a flashguard to be used on a Siler lock. Look on the page that offers flashguards, I think it's in the gunsmithing section. Chuck Pemberton

    Diamondback powder

Has anybody tried this US made powder? If so, how does it compare with Goex? I see it's cheaper than the Goex. Thanks, Chuck Pemberton

    Continental Army musket

There is a guy from Charlottesville,Rob VanLier who does a great job of transforming besses into Virginia muskets with the correct markings for either Fredericksburg or the Rappahanock Forge. He usually sets up at Ft. Freddy in the spring at their market days. If you need his email address...
