    Cannon found in scrap

You did good Sir, The following pictures are of a line throwing cannon I worked on last year for a local Yacht club. It was converted many years ago to fire 10ga blanks that they fire each day as they lower the flag. The original maker also made signal cannons used to start yacht races. I also...

    Underhammer question

That may have to do with the year of my catalog, my guess around 1971?

    Underhammer question

This should help a bit. And remember H&A used two different nipple thread pitches during the time they made them, back in the day I visited their place.

    Carburetor cleaner

Hot water and soap for me. If I'm cleaning the bores at the skeet field I use window washer fluid since no water at range.

    I saved a plank

Hello All. Here is the story, last Thursday I got a call from a club member that another club member dropped off some stuff he wouldn't be using anymore and did I want the items. I said yes as I knew the new members of the club would just think the wood was for the fireplace. Yesterday at the...

    Double barrel shotgun

I hate jumping in on a thread by the OP, but it may help him also. Firstly I have a few English proofed SxS stamped with the 13, both ML and breach loaders. Correct me if I'm wrong but the 13 shows the bore ID at proofing (.710). And if it exceeds 0.010 over bore it is considered out of proof...

Any SxS trap shooters out there?

I shoot skeet with most of my SxS. I really started testing myself this winter with the 16ga flintlock made about 1890? I was using sheep wool as wadding that is what you see in the video. I miss a lot but hit enough that I wouldn't go hungry if hunting.

    Do you shoot old "Originals"?

That is my greatest joy, bringing back an original one to shooting condition. Recently was I breaking clays with a 16b SxS flintlock.

    Cased LeMat

I like it, and does Bill Shumate have a website? I have a few original pistols that should be cased. Again well done

    Hopkins and Allen .45 underhammer

Both of mine have the 1/2 cock. Since I never wore glasses while hunting I felt the under hammer was perfect. A tiny drop of nail polish made sure I never lost a cap while hunting.

    Irish guns?

My great uncle was in the Balloon Corp in WWI and that was a real dangerous job. Edward Coffey was KIA two days after I was wounded. Your photo must have been taken many years ago as I believe I am the only visitor in recent years.

    Early 1800 Shotgun - Belgian?

Tested two yesterday, this is how it is done by many folks. The tire gives, so less strain on wood than firmly lashing down.
