Basically, the more hands and the fewer machines that touch a build, the more it's going to cost. Make those the skilled hands of a US craftsman making a living wage rather than cheaper hands overseas, and that will drive up price too.

You kinda have to decide how much hand work rather than machine work you want, then decide whether workers should get living wages. TVM gets a lot of handwork here in the US, so it's going to be more expensive than an imported factory machine model from DGW. And generally they're better builds as a result.

All that's behind the pricing, but if price is your biggest consideration look overseas for machine work with few hands.
