Anyone know of a pan primer that will reliably work with 3f? Seems like most of them only work with 4f powder.

If you are referring to those brass thingamabobs that measure a priming charge then NO. I usually use a small priming horn or prime with what I'm shooting at the time.

I used to use the other type nut some shoters stated they were unsafe. I found that they did not hold enough priming powder for a full day at the range, they got clogged from soupy pans (high humidity makes the pan soupy or muddy) or I use my main horn.

Prime directly from your horn - put your finger over the spout hole to restrict and direct the flow of powder.

That's what I do now but the fingers don't work so well anymore. Was hoping for a handy gadget that would work better than numb fingers.

Maybe a little scoop on your horn plug?

Something that would come out of the horn holding exactly the amount you want if you was to rotate it to 12 o'clock. To not retain a pan charge would be 6 o'clock.

Ended up buying a Philadelphia bag flask. It's tiny and the spout only holds 12 grains. With such a small spout I should be able to trickle the powder into the pan better than I'm doing now out of my horn. I'll report back on how well it works for this application when I get it in the mail and use it.

In concept the flask worked great today. It's going back to TOW though. Leaks 3f through the valve like it's open, even though it's closed. They are sending me a replacement. Hopefully this one does not leak.
