my new to me flintlock arrived from Ohio today my first impressions what a beautiful rifle, i checked the bore mint condition the gun is literally flawless.with the flintlock came some patches a pan priming took a ball starter and a dozen or so flints. and leathers. truthfully i had no idea which way the flint went got the flint locked down in the jaws closed the frizzen cocked the hammer and squeezed the trigger sparks every where. i did it 5 more times and was amazed at the sparks. by the way this has a L&R lock on it. talking to Benjamin he never shot over 65 grains 3f in her. so i loaded 60 grains goex 3f .490 roundball .015 patch seated her flipped the frizzen up with the tool i put a small amount of 3F in the center of the pan closed the frizzen aimed squeezed the trigger (i was shocked) i could not detect any lagtime so i kept shooting ended up shooting 20 more shots never once detected lag time. i was shooting at some cans nailing them hitting dirt clumps, so my first impression of a flintlock is i love it!!!! the rifle is small but perfect she has been slimmed down but handles perfect. im definitely in love with this flintlock

Not any more they don't. They ended that horrible practice about six months ago after external bleeding of users. Postimage is another possibility. Maybe a description could give us a clue. I love rifles, both flint and cap.

I'll be the first to admit I'm not a fan of traditions rifles. However, this rifle was the one exception for me. The beech stock to my surprise after some elbow grease had some very nice character. Also, as Howie has already proven, it is a darn accurate round ball barrel. On the negative, the factory lock went right into the scrap pile, hence the L&R lock which was a worth while addition.

Thanks cowboy you called it several years ago, I never thought id progress to a flintlock, matter of fact its the only gun in my safe ive grabbed all day

Crewdawg its great being in my hands gonna put her on paper tomorrow, I rarely ever kill animals farther than 25 I set up just like I do bowhunting im gonna shoot her at 25 and 50, heck I already know she is on at 25 I was walking soda cans with her today. I like how slimmed down she is
