I finally finished my restoration of my P1841 Brunswick that I picked up from IMA. Under all the crud I found rotted wood, splits, breaks and the list goes on. The metal was in great shape for being over 170 years old. I plan on testing this musket after the fire danger in our area goes away. This is my tenth IMA restoration and counting. The musket was handmade in Katmandu Nepal and made it's way to the USA thanks to IMA. It shoots a .69 cal ball with 60Gr of Goex.

Fantastic restoration on this gun and the other Nepalise pieces you have shown here. You work will serve as an inspiration for me when (if ever) I start on my Gahendra.

Nice job, I need a patch box for mine, did yours have one? I found an original mould for 35 bucks at a gun show!
Thanks

Mate, well done ! The stock finish is particularly good. What is the bore like? Is the rifling looking like having been cut with a widows front tooth?

cheers

Gordon

The bore is bright and shiny. The P1841 was a smoothbore. My P1837 is another story. The rifling was ok but really rough. It took a while to fix that.
