If it is Herschel House's work you have something that was made by one of the best known modern builders.

The signiture on the barrel looks like his in the link shown below.

His guns are truly, modern collectibles.

He made a number of show and tell videos that are available on YouTube.

This link will get you to a nice write up about him and his guns.

I know a lot about Hershel House, his works and his reputation. I've been as happy a skunk in a cabbage patch since I got the gun yesterday from a local Black Powder shop that had the gun on consignment.

Wait a minute Ron! That lock won't work for you, will it? Shoot me a PM. I'll take it off your hands.

How's the shoulder coming along?

Best regards.

Nice pea shooter, Skychief

Congrats Sir Great find!

Take it easy on that shoulder you sure don’t want too risk re -injury.

Let us know how it shoots!

I have seen such similar item in the past. you should be aware that they are dangerous to even possess, much less use, and should be disposed of at your earliest opportunity.

since I am in a magnanimous mood, I will agree to take this highly hazardous item off your hand at no charge and dispose of it in that correct manner; send me a p.m. and I will supply you with the address...

seriously, you have something of enormous value: I believe that it really is a House rifle.

congratulations on a once- in- a- lifetime find!
