Sept 7-9 will be my 21st year for hosting a rendezvous/black powder shoot at my farm in south central Iowa.
You dont have to dress up in period correct clothes, or camp in a wedge, or even shoot a traditional ML. All are welcomed to come and bring a friend.
This is a nice social event. No organized paper target shooting. I have tried that, but people seem to rather just shoot at the 20 or so metal targets that are hanging from 25 yards to 75 yards. The targets are as challenging as you like. From simple hanging log chain at 50 yards, or as large as a 500M ram silhouette target at 75 yards.
Plenty of water, firewood, camping spots and clean outhouse.
Some people come as early as Thursday afternoon. There is a potluck on Saturday night. There is usually no shooting on Sunday. We do a community breakfast and people usually break camp and head for home by late morning.
