A walk in some grand woodland is always a joy, even more so carrying a gun.

Of course, a shot or two raises a smile.

Jess enjoyed the cut grass taking in a run or two.

"A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives a moderate exercise to the Body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks." One of these days I am going to have to wear a sport coat for hunting. You just dont see that in my next of the woods.

You look dapper.

How come Jess has a big collar today? You do look like a country gentleman.
I usually remove it as the little name tag rings like a bell on the buckle!
Today I was enjoying a walk, it didn't matter if we were noisy....

Thanks y'all.

Strolls are the best hunts in my book! Glad to see they're possible and productive in your part of the world. Here we're populated with snowshoe hare and ptarmigan, but the spirit is the same. You (and Jess of course!) would find yourself right at home.

I see a No Hunting sign in the first photo. Is that why this is a "stroll" rather than a hunt?
:haha: it's says no parking. It's a private road and prior to being gated all and sundry would drive down there!

I see that Jess has a new necklace, every young lady likes new jewelry. That is quite an interesting fowler, tell us about it...”¦”¦.robin
That is her usual collar Robin.
The fowler is my Pedersoli faux Indian trade gun.

I have a quick question please. I’ve seen two post where squirrel hunting is available now. I live in RI and the small game season doesn’t start until fall. Wish we had an early season here. This is a banner year for them here. What state are you hunting, I agree with the others very distinguished look. Thank Art

No close season on Grey's, all reds are protected by law, no hunting.
