I'd like to build an Amusette and the accompanying, two wheeled hand cart, as I'd think it would be cool to display at 18th century events where there is a good assortment of artillery, to help illustrate just how varied field pieces were...,

OK and it'd be cool to shoot too.

Here's an Amusette being fired from a mount, and from a shouldered, two-man crew position. Note the SEG on the young lady's face when she shoots the thing.

Anybody know a company that could produce a 1" to 1.5 " smooth bore barrel? Maybe I should go 2" bore?

I don't have the correct swivel for mine. I have had one on order from the Rifle Shoppe for a while now, hoping it will be 3" across :idunno: :hatsoff:

I sure would like to build one, and the carriage too...., I'm sure the commander of the Loyalists at the large events would like his own artillery.

Tough to find a barrel that's 1" - 1.5 " in size, let alone one that is Bess-esque.

and you need an extra barrel lug for that swivel thing, let me measure the hole for you... :idunno: :rotf:

Thanks... :haha:

I found The Rifle Shoppe sells breeched 1" barrels, Bess Style, so that's a 4-bore. I could opt for the full parts kit with finished lock for about $1450.00... OR $1350.00 IF I was to smith my own yoke for the thing. :shocked2: The barrel, yoke, and lug would run me $600.00 including the shipping, I think.

IF I ordered it next month it might arrive by June of next year. :shocked2:

Perfect for Pterodactyl hunting!

A single shot from that thing at that angle might drive your feet in to the ground up to about your knees!
