For those who did not make the Texas Muzzle Loading Rifle Assc. State shoot, you missed a nice shoot.

From reading here, I see there are a number of Texas shooters which do not attend the TMLRA’s shoots and often wonder why.

A new vendor bought Marvin’s inventory and was in Brady. He and his wife are real nice folks.

He had powder, caps and a good selection of M/L supplies. For those who are hunting G/M drop in T/C barrels, he had them there.

He will be in Brady in October,

I've looked at their website off and on. Many moons ago I did go to a shoot in Brady, (1994 or 95 I think) but to tell you the truth, people didn't seem very friendly. I'd try to start conversations but didn't get much response. Seemed very cliquish.

It's been a while but when I last looked the June shoot was a week long and it's kind of hard to take a week off sometimes when you're working.

Being a Native Born Texican, it just kind of turned me off. I had been a member of a club in Austin back in the late 1970s/early 80s, The Hill Country Free Traders" and it seems our "atmosphere" was very different. Maybe just me though.

Maybe I'll give it another look see.

Came real close to going, but could not make it happen this year. I have considered going several times over the years and either forget to calender it or just don't want to make the trip by myself. It is a small drive, about 2 1/2 hours one way from Georgetown where I live. When you dont know anyone in the group its easy to talk yourself out of it.

Yes it can. Only way to know some in the group is to go.

Come in October and look around to get a feel for things and buy needed supplies. I believe BillnPatti is from Georgetown.

Yes, Bill and I were going to come over, but both of our weekend plans kind of fell apart at last minute, so we did not make it out. Maybe October.

David,
If ya'll decide to do the October trip make sure and holler at me. I would like to join you if I can get the time. Is there any info posted on it?

Dont think they have posted yet. But if you go to the web site for Texas Muzzle Loading Rifle Assoc. and click on the swap sheet link that takes you to their news letter and I think they post the info there in advance. Looks like the fall shoot will be Oct. 4-7, 2018.
