In the June 2018 issue of Muzzle Blasts, there is an article on Rice Barrel Company.

In the article it says Rice plans in the future making drop-in barrels for T/C Hawken that will be avalaible in different rifle twists and calibers. They will be complete but in the white, not having any blueing or browing on the barrels.

No time line was given.

That will make a lot of folks happy and should be a boon to the popularity of T/C Hawkens.

Jason had one in his booth at Friendship last June.
He told me he had seen all the interest in the Green Mtn. "Drop-in" barrels and as they dried up...he wanted to step in with a Rice offering.
As with all of his products...the quality is superb but not cheap. At that time, he was only offering 32", Right hand, caplock, 15/16th's. Things may have changed since then.
A .32 will be pretty heavy, but that's been one I've wondered about too. I'll be up there in a couple of weeks, and will get an update.

Or you could just buy one from Track. They come blued and fully assembled ready to drop in. They are having Green Mountain ramp up production again. I was lucky to get one already, but I guess demand is out distancing production at this stage, which should correct itself.

They are coming back though. If you need one there is hope.

THAT Sir is news many here were unaware of.
Thank you for posting. It's been a while since I spoke to someone at Green Mtn. and was told they had dropped muzzleloader barrels from their production plans.
I have 2 of their T/C "drop-ins" from the 1990's and have found them to be awesome shooters. As supplied (back then...)..they were not "HC", but sure shoot well. :hatsoff:
