flint find

I have a new flint rifle in progress. (There will be more on that later.) As part of my eagerness to be ready for it I have been going through boxes of ml 'stuff' and have found a couple treasures. Included in the 'stuff' were a bunch of used sawn flints I got from Gunter Stifter almost 50 years ago, PLUS seven UNUSED white agate ones. Those plus my old ones which I'll resharpen with a diamond drum will keep me in sparkers on the Chambers Siler lock for a long time. Only downside , these white agate gunflints are so pretty they almost should be used for jewelry. :wink: Y'all eat yer hearts out. :haha:

Where's the challenge when using white agate flints??? They rarely go "klatch" with no boom!

Using regular flints or agates give me purpose in life. When I pull the trigger and get that "Klatch...Boom!" it's like winning the lottery! :rotf:

Congratulations on uncovering the treasure trove of flints. I haven't been shooting as long but still manage to come across neat stuff I forgot I had. The best was an envelope with a couple dozen Rich Pierce flints that fit both my Lyman GP and TVM rifles. Then there was the box with several hundred percussion caps for the C&B revolvers. If I hadn't been so pleased with the discoveries, I would have been embarassed at my so-called memory. :redface:
